FAQs

What is it?
A vibrant, bold face paint split cake designed by Leanne Courtney — 30g, giving 75–150 applications depending on design.
What is it used for?
Summer Crush is a strong pick for butterfly face paint wings and flower face paint roses, and it also suits princess face paint crowns and dragon face paint scales.
What's the difference between a split cake and a rainbow cake?
Split cakes are 30g with narrow colour bands designed for one-stroke gradient blending. Rainbow cakes are 50g with full-sized colour segments built for full multi-colour sponge coverage as well as one-stroke work.
Can I use a sponge instead of a brush?
Yes — dab the colours onto the skin with a small sponge or round dauber, patting back and forth until the colours are even. A flat brush is better suited to one-stroke work like wings and petals.
How many applications does one cake give?
75–150 applications, depending on how much of the design uses the cake and how heavily it's applied.
Is it safe for kids?
Yes, for ages 3 and up. As with any cosmetic, we recommend a patch test on the wrist before full application.

Best for

Butterfly face paint
Flower face paint
Princess face paint
Dragon face paint
Bold one-stroke cheek art

How to apply & remove

1
Load your brush
Dampen a flat brush slightly, then sweep it across the colour bands to load a smooth gradient. Add water a little at a time by dipping just one corner of the brush — too much water at once will muddy the colours.
2
One-stroke work
With the brush fully loaded across the gradient, paint wings, petals, or crowns in a single confident stroke to get the full colour transition in one pass.
3
Sponge application
For broader coverage, load a small sponge or round dauber and dab the colours onto the skin, patting gently until the colours sit evenly.
4
Let dry
Dries quickly, and once dry has a smudge-resistant finish.
5
Remove
Easily removed with soap and water on a soft cloth or sponge. For the gentlest removal, we recommend Brush & Body Wash by Jest Paint ↗ — a natural, plant-based soap safe for skin and brushes.
6
Clean your brushes & store
Clean brushes and sponges after each use with Brush & Body Wash by Jest Paint ↗ so colours don't carry over between uses. Store the cake dry with the lid on in a cool place away from direct sunlight. Never leave in a hot car.

Comparison

vs buying colours separately
One split cake blends several complementary shades in one — every shade sits ready for a single confident brush stroke.
vs rainbow cakes
This split cake is 30g with narrow colour bands built for one-stroke gradient blending. Rainbow cakes are 50g with full-sized colour segments for full multi-colour sponge coverage.
vs oil-based paints
Acacia Senegal Gum base is lighter and more breathable than oil-based formulas — no greasy feel, no pore-clogging, and removes with soap and water instead of oil cleansers.
Best for
Butterflies, flowers, princess crowns, and anyone needing easy soap-and-water removal at the end of the day.
Not suitable for: full waterproofing requirements. If you need waterproof paint, consider an alcohol-activated formula instead.
